Today, let’s learn: single crochet.
This little stitch is your workhorse will use it all the time. It is always referred to as ‘sc’. When you see ‘sc’ in a diagram, it relates to the single crochet.
Here's a laid-back way to knock one out:
Hook into the stitch: Slide your hook into the next stitch.
- Yarn over & pull: Wrap the yarn over the hook (yo) and draw it back through the stitch you'll now have two loops on the hook.
- Yarn over again.
- Pull that loop right through the two loops on your hook.
- Boom—one single crochet is complete!
Repeat: Stick your hook into the next stitch and repeat the process.
Keep going, and you’ll have a neat row of single crochets in no time!

Have a challenge with this crochet! It is only used sc to complete!
